OUR CORE VALUES
LOVE- UNCONDITIONAL LOVE & ACCEPTANCE (John 3:16, 13:35, 1 Peter 3:8) HIS Church will love, accept, and serve all persons regardless of race, social standing, age, financial status, or like criterion. Christ’s compassion will be demonstrated; however, HIS Church will not support or tolerate clearly unbiblical actions, lifestyles, sexual orientations, and/or religious practices.
SERVE- OTHERS FIRST (Galatians 5:13, Matthew 25:35-45, 28:18-19, 1 Timothy 5:3) HIS Church will put others first by serving and ministering to children, elderly, widows, victims of abuse, the homeless, the hungry, prisoners, and the sick/ill-including both church members and non-members-and extending from the church facilities and reaching to the uttermost parts of the earth.
WORSHIP- SACRIFICIAL WORSHIP (Luke 4:8, Romans 12:1-12, 1 Corinthians 12, Hebrews 10:25) HIS Church will engage in sacrificial worship through personal and corporate worship including music, singing, dancing, prayers, Bible reading/teaching, gifts/offerings, creative arts, fellowship, and other activities that edify the Body of Christ and bring Glory to God. HIS Church will demonstrate these acts of worship not only as part of services, but as a lifestyle of its members. Worship shall be taught and presented as any and all outward expressions of one’s personal relationship with God.
TEACH- PURSUIT OF DISCIPLESHIP (Luke 14:27, Matthew 28:19) HIS Church will only pursue those events, curriculums, activities, etc. that Biblically support the true heart of HIS Church which is to “Make Disciples.” Though encouraging people to convert to Christianity, become church members, participate in church activities/programs, and the like will be a part of HIS Church, the purpose will always focus on making people true followers of Jesus Christ. HIS Church will seek to create an environment of discipleship through learning, teaching and living the Word of God, participating in nurturing relationships, and pursuing the mission to which Christ has called us.
ENCOURAGE- SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY (Galatians 6:1, 1 Cor. 15:58, 1 Thess. 5:11, James 5:16) HIS Church will encourage and support accountability, encouragement, and affirmation among church members. Spiritual disciplines are the essential blocks of becoming a disciple and these are best learned in open, honest groups of people. The expectations and levels of commitment/discipline/accountability will rise accordingly as persons move from the stage of a non-member or guest, to a church member, church leader/teacher, minister/staff person, and pastor. |
